International Symposium

ImpactMin Symposium - 27-28 November 2012, LULEA, Sweden

Mining industry will inevitably continue to satisfy the demand of modern society with different kinds of raw materials. The impacts of mining activities are relevant for the society as well as for the environment in general, and there are a range of research and investigation to map these impacts, their magnitude and extent.

The ImpactMin project, co-funded by the European Union's 7th Framework Program has been running since January 2010 and has developed and tested various tools and methods to monitor the impact of mineral resources exploitation.

The ImpactMin Consortium final event took place in Lulea, Sweden on 27-28 November 2012 in order to showcase you an EU wide approach with state of the art scientific content. Responsible mining, environmental footprint reduction and earth observation tools were the key topics of the event featuring internationally recognized keynote speakers and presentations on the project results.
